("Ay-dad") is the Moorish name. Also called Zool ("Zoo-ool").
An African sheeplike
quadruped (Ammotragus tragelaphys) having a long mane on the breast and
forelegs. It is perhaps the chamois of the Old Testament.
A wild sheep (Ammortragus
lervia) of northern Africa, having long curved horns and a beardlike
growth of hair on the neck and chest. Also referred to as Barbary sheep.
